Drainage & Water searches...
The revised April 2000 Edition of the Local Authority Search (CON29) included under section 2, questions relating to drainage and sewers. In 2002, the Land Charges Working Group, which includes the Law Society and the Council of Mortgage Lenders, completed a review of these questions and launched a new drainage and water search, the CON29DW.
In addition to replacing elements of the existing enquiry, additional questions have been added to provide a broader range of responses, which now include details of the mains water supply and the basis on which water and sewerage charges are made. The new CON29DW was formally launched with the revised CON29 (2002 Edition) on 1st. July 2002.

Drainage and Water Searches can be requested from any of the National Water Companies in England and Wales. For details of the current search charges made by the individual water companies, click here
